In one of the studies reflecting traffic accidents in Saudi Arabia, we found that the number of injuries increases significantly during Ramadan. 

When comparing traffic accidents injuries during Ramadan compared to the rest of the year, this is clear.

The study analyzed more than 112,000 traffic accidents reported by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in 2021. And what did we find? 9,922 of those 112 accidents occurred during Ramadan.

We found that the risk of a fatal accident at sunset during Ramadan is more than twice as high as in normal months.

One of the most important reasons we have found for traffic accidents is the rush to reach Iftar before the sun sets. This contributes to an increase in the frequency of injuries and accidents. As well as other factors such as reduced attention due to fasting or lack of sleep.
