A report on traffic accident published by Riyadh Traffic indicates the enormous human and economic losses in Saudi Arabia. How we tried to solve the issue?
At Shawahid, we found the seriousness of the accident figures provided by Riyadh Traffic on the Ministry of Interior website. After reviewing it, we discovered that it is not only Saudi Arabia that faces this issue but all countries of the world and those who face higher percentages of accidents and the resulting deaths or injuries, in addition to the economic losses of the country.
However, Saudi Arabia’s move to achieve Vision 2030 has seen a significant change in these rates and has succeeded in reducing death rates significantly.
From 2013 to 2022, the KSA was able to overcome road accidents and the resulting deaths, injuries, and economic losses. Fatality rates during that period decreased by 40 %, equivalent to 4,555 deaths and more than 24,000 injuries in 2022, compared to more than 7,000 deaths and 39,000 injuries in 2013.
Last year, Saudi Arabia achieved an even greater achievement, as the number of road accident deaths decreased by 50 percent and injuries by 35 percent, according to the results of the World Health Report.
But how did Saudi Arabia overcome road accidents this way?
There are many ways to achieve traffic safety and reduce accidents around the world, such as designing safe roads, regulating traffic, and punishing those who break the laws because they may cause an accident. But if the roads are already designed and in use, and making modifications and improvements to them will disrupt the roads and increase cost and time, what is the solution?
Traffic safety systems are a perfect solution to eliminate traffic accidents, just like what happened in Saudi Arabia. As we mentioned, Saudi Arabia has succeeded in reducing fatalities due to the use of the latest and most efficient traffic safety systems approved by the Ministry of Transportation and conforming to international specifications.
Safety roller barriers are one of the most important and modern traffic safety systems that play a big role on different roads.
Safety roller barriers are an excellent improvement to metal roadblocks with an ingenious design that is effective in keeping lives and roadways safe.
Roller barriers minimize the risk to passengers and drivers when swerving toward the edge of the road, and the risk of hitting a barrier that is too weak to protect them.
When a vehicle swerves to the edge of the road and hits the roller barrier, the rollers that are aligned along the barrier absorb as much of the impact energy as possible so that neither the passengers nor the driver are affected, and then the rollers rotate one after the other against the car, pushing it back onto the road.
Safety Roller Barrier provides superior protection for the driver and passenger.
Safety roller barriers have several features that help them fulfill the previous role efficiently.
Traffic safety systems have been tested in crash laboratories that conform to international specifications, proving the efficiency of our shock absorbers and other systems that have been proven to conform to specifications.
Shawahid’s traffic safety systems have been certified by the relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Transportation and Logistics. They are also ordered in various projects in Saudi Arabia.
Our concern is to support all road officials and ministries around the world and to minimize accidents that may occur, we care about rapid supply and quick communication with clients through several different means of communication.
