What are traffic safety systems following Saudi Road Code?

Traffic safety systems are only approved if they meet the specifications to achieve efficiency and safety. We reached a design that matched the Saudi road code.

On what basis are traffic safety systems designed?

Conforming to the specifications and standards set by authorities specialized in road safety is necessary. When manufactured systems conform to these specifications, they are highly efficient and able to effectively achieve road safety and preserve the lives of road users.

Shawahid is part of Saudi Arabia, and our systems are intended for all countries of the world. Therefore, they comply with the Saudi Code standards issued by the Ministry of Transportation and Logistics.

The following are some of the traffic systems that conform to the Saudi Road Code standards.

Animal Fences in Traffic Safety

An animal barrier is a fence that extends along the road for vast distances. This type of barrier prevents animals from damaging facilities and agricultural areas as it surrounds them and protects drivers on the roads from the danger of crossing animals.

The wires that make up the fence are 16 linear wires, and they are highly tensile resistant up to 1200 megapascals, and these wires are galvanized. The corners of the fence and the start and end are galvanized by hot-dip galvanizing.

The wires are mounted with anchor rods that contain aluminum clips that connect the rods to the linear wires.

Anti Glare in traffic

This product is a traffic system that is used to prevent the light from passing onto oncoming traffic on a two-way highway.

These systems must be screens that are attached to another system approved by the Ministry of Transportation, such as a guardrail. Anti-glare screens must be made of wood or plastic, and we at Shawahid manufacture them from polyethylene plastic, painted in colors that block UV rays.

The Ministry-approved anti-glare that we design to the same standards is flexible and doesn’t distort in temperatures from zero to 90 degrees.

The anti-glare is attached to a non-metallic base where the pins are U-shaped.

Galvanized traffic barriers

All exposed parts and materials of road barriers of various types are galvanized according to the standards of Saudi Road Code 403. Accordingly, we galvanize Guardrail, MegaSRail, Safety Roller Barriers, and Animal Fences.

Saudi Road Code 403 states that galvanizing is done according to the specifications approved in the ASTM Road Code.
